We are what some might say, “very old school.” We come from a generation that isn’t afraid to get their hands dirty and do all the physical labor of running our own businesses but, we haven’t always looked to the future. Here’s the short of it, if we got hurt we were just out of luck, no work no pay. And it humiliates me to say, we didn’t have retirement in place. 

 

About two years ago and 32 years into horse training, I knew I couldn’t keep up training horses at the pace I was, nor did I want to. I was riding 7 to 8 head of horses every day and really, never having any time off. After all, horses have to be fed and pens cleaned whether you are riding or not. 

 

Around the same time, my Husband, Rick was hurting. He had 2 previous back surgeries and a hip replacement and if he kept working as hard as he does, it might literally kill him.

 

I was scared and I knew my husband was too. What were we going to do? We couldn’t work any harder. We needed to find a way to work smarter. Needless to say, I was open to additional streams of income. Little did I know that it was staring me right in the face. 

 

After sharing my transformation story with other people began to ask me how they could do it too. As I shared, I began wondering if this was the solution I was praying for. Could I really help others transform their lives and make money doing it? 

 

I am familiar with how the network marketing industry works but I had never heard of social retail and I am not the least bit techy. Besides that, the previous company I was partnered with for 12 years was old school. We built belly to belly and traveled excessively. That experience had left me burnt out and closing the door on the whole industry. However, I couldn’t deny the commissions that began showing up in my bank account from this thing they called “Social Retail”. And, I couldn’t deny the amount of excitement I felt when my friends would call me jumping for joy as their waistlines and lives were changing rapidly. So I thought, this time maybe it could be different. 

 

I called my business partner and friend and asked what do I need to do to start building this business?

 

She said we have a very simple system and if you love the products and share your story people will ask you what you're doing (which they already were). It’s called curiosity marketing and we add people to some great groups so they can research the products for themselves and message them the information to order. 

 

The system was so simple that even this outdated nana could do it! Being able to still ride and to build this business from my phone was mind-blowing! And as soon as I said let’s do this, it really just blew up! I never dreamt that I could find this kind of success by losing weight and sharing my story, but I did. 

 

After just 1 year I was able to retire from training horses and have now put a retirement savings in place. Even better, soon we will be able to retire my husband and leave a legacy for my grandkids.
